The Second FBC Cup Video Transcription Contest, sponsored by the leading multilingual solutions provider FBC GLOBAL, concluded in Fudan University on December 7th, 2013. The contest organized by Fudan University and co-organized by Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE) and Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) had been a big hit among English-language enthusiasts of the three universities and other top universities in Shanghai. At the Final, the contestants vied to be winners, being judged by three distinguished language experts: Professor Tao Youlan, Deputy Director of the Department of Translation and Interpreting of Fudan University, Xiang Dingding, lecturer of the College English Teaching Department of Fudan University and Chinese translator of J. K. Rowling’s 2012 novel The Casual Vacancy, and Associate Professor Zhang Jie, Deputy Director of the College English Teaching Department of SUFE. The event culminated at the awarding ceremony when a senior executive of FBC GLOBAL presented trophies and awards to the three winners.
